The design of the CEN degree program will require students to determine the concentration area they are interested in pursuing at the time of application to the program as it has a direct correlation to the curriculum the student will follow.
The selected concentration area will determine the academic support team the student will work with from application to graduation.
Computer systems concentration
When applying to the Computer Engineering degree program select Computer Systems as your concentration. The Computer Systems concentration requires the student to take 18 total credit hours as follows:
- 6 credits of core classes (CSE 551 and EEE 554)
- At least 9 credit hours of graduate level courses in CSE or CEN, and
- At least 3 credit hours of graduate level courses in EEE or CEN.
Electrical engineering concentration
When applying to the Computer Engineering degree program select Electrical Engineering as your concentration. The Electrical Engineering concentration requires the student to take 18 total credit hours as follows:
- 6 credits of core courses (CSE 551 and EEE 554)
- At least 9 credit hours of graduate level courses in EEE or CEN, and
- At least 3 credit hours of graduate level courses in CSE or CEN.
